Debian Packages
If it is known that there are no prerequisite packages (dependencies) for
a particular package, then the particular package can be installed with
the command:
unix# dpkg --install filename
Note that Debian package names always end with extension 'deb'.
f the package does have dependencies, then it is considerably easier
to use the command 'dselect'.
Note that packages by Alexis have no dependencies.
