*) Click 'Start', 'Programs', 'Internet', 'FrontPage Express'. *) From the 'File' menu, select 'Open' and at the 'Open File' window, make sure that 'From file' is selected and then click 'Browse'. *) At the next 'Open File' window navigate your way to the HTML document you want to edit (probably what you want to edit is under 'C:\Judith\HTML\My Home Page'), select the file you want to edit and click 'Open'. *) Using FrontPage Express is just like using Word; you can edit a document with it. Word is for editing 'DOC' files (with .DOC extensions to their names, which may be hidden from you by Windows, but normally the file's icon also indicates the same information) and FrontPage Express is for editing 'HTML' files (with .HTM or .HTML extensions to their names, again which may be hidden.) FrontPage Express is not a picture editor! If you want to add pictures to your document then I suggest you prepare these FIRST, and save them into the appropriate 'images' subdirectory of your home page directory. (Each area of your home page has an 'images' subdirectory in order to maintain a little order!) Once pictures have been saved to the right place, then use FrontPage express to include them into the HTML document you want. *) When you have finished editing, just as in Word, save the document by, from the 'File' menu, selecting 'Save'. *) All you have accomplished thus far is to change the 'master' copy of your home page (that's the copy that resides on your PC). Maybe you then want to publish the change or maybe you want to wait and make changes to other pages too? If you want to edit another page, I suggest you 'Close' the current page first ('Close' is on the 'File' menu), and only then repeat the procedure for opening and editing a document as described above. (Actually, FrontPage Express supports having multiple documents open at the same time, and has shortcut methods to open a page that is led to by a link on the current page, but this can get quite confusing, so I suggest not to do it.) *) So when you are finally ready to upload all the changes you have made, then close FrontPage Express and see the 'How to Upload Your Home Page' HOWTO.
