*) Click 'Start', followed by 'Programs', followed by 'Internet', followed by 'Connect With', followed by your preferred ISP (e.g. 'Wanadoo'). *) At the 'Connect To' window, just click 'Connect'. *) The connection can take about 90 seconds to establish, after which the 'Connect To' window will be minimised to the 'System Tray' (that's the collection of mini-icons at the bottom-right of the screen). *) Then you're free to: - start up a web browser (if you want to surf the web, visit your webmail services to check your Email, visit Google to search for stuff, etc), or - follow the instructions in the 'How to Upload Your Home Page' (if you want to upload recently made changes to your homepage), or - start Speakfreely (if you want to talk to people using your PC as a telephone), or - let Alexis log in to your computer from a remote location (if you want him to take a look at something on your PC that you can't email to him), or - a thousand other things (using a web browser is just ONE of MANY things you can do when you're connected to the Internet!) *) When you've done whatever it was you wanted to do, and the connection is no longer needed, then right-click on the connection icon in the system tray and select 'Disconnect'.
